Who we are

Rising Dawn is an online literary magazine that focuses primarily on indie authors.

My name is Dawn Solis, the creator of Rising Dawn, and I started writing when I was twelve years old. Immediately I realized that my place in this world was hunched over words, consuming and creating stories with a thirst that I still haven’t managed to quench.

A couple of years ago I realized that authors were drowning. With a lack of support and a lack of funds, the publishing houses were the monster on the hill, and my Indie peers had no army.

I am building that army. This website is a place for authors of all walks of life to come join arms and have a place to present their art.

Submission is free, and I offer editorial services at an extremely discounted rate.

Rising Dawn is currently hiring writers, submissions that get accepted to the magazine get paid and acknowledged for their time and work. There is never a deadline for submissions, but the magazine releases a new edition on the 15th of every month.

Rising Dawn holds the belief that literature should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their economic status and station in life.

  • Rising Dawn Literary Magazine is a home for the red lip movement, not it’s life.

Works submitted to the red lip movement are not censored, or preference based.

Submissions to the red lip movement are fact checked and then sent through.

Fact checking will happen during the publication process and authors are not to be told ahead of time what that fact check entails.

  • Absolutely not! The services page is there so that I can help continue the life of this magazine. I read things every day that takes my breath away!
